The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts (PVPA) Charter Public School is pleased to announce that 2012-2013 school year applications will be available the first week of November for openings in grade 7 and waiting lists for grades 8 though 11. Applications or additional information may be obtained by calling the PVPA School Office at 413/552-1580 ext. 114. Applications may also be downloaded from our website: www.pvpa.org beginning the first week of November.
PVPA is a publicly funded charter school authorized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. PVPA offers a college preparatory core curriculum and performing arts programs in an extended day format (8:30am to 4:15pm). Admission is open to all residents of Massachusetts who have an interest in the performing arts with priority given to Hampshire, Hampden, Franklin Counties and the towns of Petersham, Brookfield and Sturbridge. There is no tuition; accepted students are responsible for providing their own transportation.
Eligibility is limited to those students currently in grades six through ten who are applying for the 2012-2013 school year.
PVPA is open to all students, on a space available basis, and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age, ancestry, athletic performance, special need, proficiency in the English language or academic achievement.
Preliminary applications must be postmarked or brought to the school office no later than January 6, 2012.
An informational meeting and tour of the school has been scheduled for 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 15 at 15 Mulligan Drive, South Hadley. The meeting will include a description of the school’s programs and time for questions and answers.
